'I'm Like Benjamin Button’ – Ibrahimovic Brags After Brace Against Sampdoria

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joked he does not age after he netted two goals in AC Milan’s emphatic 4-1 win against Sampdoria in the Serie A on Wednesday night.

Hakan Calhanoglu, Rafeal Leao and Ibrahimovic’s brace were enough to hand Stefano Pioli’s men another win.

Ibrahimovic joined AC Milan in January on an initial six-month contract with an option to extend for another year.

His return to San Siro coincided with the AC Milan’s resurgence as they have climb up the Serie A table.

Ibrahimovic has now scored ten goals and provided five assists in 19 games in all competitions for the Rossoneri; becoming the first player to score 50 goals for both Milan and city rivals Inter in Serie A.

Speaking to the media after the match, the former Sweden international likened himself to the fictional character Benjamin Button who ages backwards.

"I'm like Benjamin Button," the former Barcelona and Manchester United forward told Milan TV, before adding: "I've always been young, never old."

"I think everyone here has the right mentality in front of goal now, as I know that when a chance arrives in Serie A, you have to take it. You’ve got to attack the opportunity and kill the game,’ he added.

Pioli was given a contract extension due to AC Milan’s upturn in form and Ibrahimovic admits he is happy for the Italian coach despite being coy on his future.

"I can say only positive things," Ibrahimovic said. "I'm happy for him because he did a great job.

"He worked under pressure without knowing the future. He did a great job and the renewal is deserved. When you work hard, you always get something back”

"I'm happy for him. He deserved this - it was not an easy situation. The team believes in him a lot and I respect him."
